K-2 Presentation Day 2016

Salamah College had on Tuesday 13/12/2016 the annual K-2 Presentation Day.

Parents and staff gathered to celebrate the hard work and achievements of students from Kindergarten to Year 2, throughout 2016. The crowd were treated to superb performances in both Arabic and English, showcasing our students’ talents.

K-2 Performances included:
- Kindy ‘The Kindergarten Class’ & ‘ما أحلى اللغة العربية’
- Year 1:’Workers in the Community’ & ‘يا جمالو’
-Year 2: ‘Body Percussion Beats’ & ‘أحمد يا ساكن طيبة’

⁠⁠⁠ارتجت قاعة السلامة باحتفال نهاية عام ٢٠١٦ لصفوف التمهيدي والسنة الأولى والثانية فغردت به عصافير الكيندي أنشودة عن الأحرف الأبجدية وشىء من قصيدة الإمام بن عساكر رحمه الله وأنشد الصف الأول أنشودة عن جمال النبي محمد ذابت به قلوب العاشقين للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وتابع الصف الثاني عنهم وصلة الحب والعشق فأنشدوا عن حب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم
وكانت كلمة الحفل الشيقة للحاج وسام سعد حفظه الله تعالى مدير مدرسة السلامة فهنأ الأولاد على ثمرة نجاحهم وجهدهم خلال العام
فكانت الفرحة حينها فرحتان، فرحة بذكرى مولد النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم وفرحة بانتقال الطلاب إلى المرحلة الجديدة بإذن الله تعالى
وتكريما للطلاب المتفوقين وزع المدير شهادات تقديرية عليهم وسط سعادة عارمة من ذويهم الذين حرصوا على التقاط الصور التذكارية

Annual Mawlid Celebration 1438 – 2016

Salamah College successfully held the Annual Mawlid Celebration commemorating the birth of our Master Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him on Friday 9 December 2016 / 10 Rabi^ul Awwaal 1438.

The whole school attended the celebration which began with a recitation from the holy Quran by our Year 7 student Walid Eid, followed by Islamic chants repeating this year’s Mawlid slogan “Muhammad, The guide from darkness to light”.

Our School Principal, Mr. Wissam Saad delivered an inspirational lesson which entailed the story of the birth of Prophet Muhammad may Allaah elevate him and his nation protect. The students were captivated and eager to learn more about their role model, our Master Muhammad sallallahu ^alayhi wa sallam.

A sincere and heartfelt supplication was made by Mr. Omar Grimly, asking Allah to grant us the sight of Prophet Muhammad in our dreams.

A variety of sweets, drinks and lolly bags were offered to all staff and students to enjoy at the conclusion of the celebration.
Salamah College would like to congratulate all staff, students, parents and the Muslim community on this honourable and blessed occasion. A special thank you to the Arabic and Religion Department for organising this wonderful and successful event.

بِسْم الله الرحمن الرحيم ،والحمد والشكر لربنا الكريم ، الذي منّ علينا وشرفنا بنبينا محمد الحكيم الحليم العظيم ، عليه أتم الصلاة والتسليم

بمناسبة المولد النبوي الشريف وحبا برسول الله محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم أقامت مدرسة السلامة الإسلامية احتفالا عطرا ازدادت به المدرسة شرفا وأنوارا لما تخلله من أمور حسنة نافعة

ابتدأ الاحتفال بقراءة القرءان الكريم من الطالب وليد عيد ، ثم بدأ طلاب المرحلتين الابتدائية والمتوسطة بالصلاة على النبي الكريم وترديد شعار المولد هذا العام “محمد نوره الهادي من الظلم صلى الله عليه وسلم” وفي هذه المناسبة ألقى مدير المدرسة الأستاذ وسام سعد كلمة تحدث فيها عن قصة مولد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وأخلاقه وسيرته، مؤكدا على أهمية الاقتداء بأفضل خلق الله محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام

حقا إنه ليوم عظيم شأنه ورفعته بذكر اسمك وخصالك ونهجك يا رسول الله. إن هذا لشرف نفتخر به ومرقاة علت به مدارسنا شامخة بين صروح العلم والمعرفة وعز نشرح به صدورنا ونرفع به جباهنا

في ختام الحفل وزعت الحلوى والعصائر حبا برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على الطلاب الذين كانو يرددون الصلوات عليه فازدادوا فرحا بعد فرح ، وكان بعضهم يوزع على طلاب آخرين ويقول خذ وصل على الرسول ، ما أجمله من أمر يتربى عليه أبناؤنا
نسأل الله تعالى أن يزيدنا وطلاب مدارسنا حبا واقتداء برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأن يحفظ لنا مدرستنا والقائمين عليها والعاملين فيها والمنتهلين منها نهج وسنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

Salamah’s school newspaper club has ended the year with great success.

Selected students from grades 4-6 have worked tirelessly throughout the year to write, photograph and research articles in order to raise valuable funds for student resources.

This exciting event includes activities in order to encourage all students to engage with spelling and to promote improved literacy in combination with the English K-6 Syllabus.

 Hyde Park Barracks Year 4 Excursion
 Hyde Park Barracks Year 4 Excursion

This week, Year 4 visited  Hyde Park Barracks as a part of their History unit. The World Heritage listed site is one of the most significant convict sites in the world. It played a central role in the world’s largest and longest-running system of convict transportation. Students enjoyed learning about how the convicts lived and the jobs they completed.

The NSW Schoolhouse Museum is a popular excursion venue for schools. With a hands-on focus, students from Year 2 interacted with artefacts and experienced early school life. Students had a wonderful time using skills of historical inquiry to investigate the past in comparison to the present as a part of our History programs at Salamah College.

Smart Skills Workshop Organised by Questacon and SAMSUNG
Salamah College Won SAMSUNG STEM Hero Competition

On Wednesday 12th October 2016 Salamah College held a Smart Skills Workshop, hosted by the National Science and Technology Centre Questacon in conjunction with SAMSUNG.

All students from year 9 participated in the workshops, which challenged students to explore the STEM subjects being Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

Students had the opportunity to solve stimulating puzzles using the ‘Brain It On!’ application using SAMSUNG tablets. Salamah College was a winner in the Samsung STEM Hero competition and therefore received a gift of thirty SAMSUNG TAB S2 tablets from SAMSUNG.

Students also tackled the complex challenge of building their very own Rube Goldberg machine to perform simple tasks, which utilised lateral and logical thinking to reach a solution.

The Smart Skills Workshop proved to be another successful event coordinated by the Science faculty in 2016, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all students.

Talents at Salamah College

​What a wonderful display of talent at Salamah College! Selected students competed today, in a show stopping talent quest to mark the end of Term 3. Students showcased a wonderful variety of acts, including singing, and gymnastics. Well done to all participants and congratulations to all our winners.
